One of my favorite worst places in New York is the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which is not only a port to the sweet land of liberty, but also a port to that bygone era of cinnabuns-and-despair, a time that existed after the creation of fluorescent lighting but prior to the advent of ticket machines. When I heard that Areaware was opening a holiday pop-up shop in Port Authority with products by Kid Robot, Rogan, Cheap Monday etc. and hosting an opening party with cocktails and DFA's Justin Miller DJing and everything, I kind of needed to see it, and not because I care about holiday shopping.
